Bolt / Trigger timing ???

Let me start out by saying this is on a Panda action w/Jewel trigger.
I'm wondering if the adjustable trigger hanger from Bullet Central will solve the problem(s) ???
I have what seems like a catch 22 problem but maybe not.
When I lift the handle it has to just barely start on the extraction cam to hand off to the trigger, which I think means the trigger has to move FORWARD.
The catch 22 part is I only have .220 pin fall now, I think Kelby recomends .240+. It does get to .245 with the bolt all the way back but the pin drops back .025 to .220 on closing (move trigger BACK).
I think the pin fall is the main problem but if I solve it is it going to make the hand off wrong??

The bolt cocking cam does not hand off the cocking piece to the trigger until the bolt is coming down from its fully open position. If you have a little cock on close, you can remove it by moving the trigger forward, which will lessen firing pin fall. If your firing pin drops a little as you are starting to close the bolt, moving the trigger back will take care of this, and will increase firing pin fall. If you look at the success of the BAT actions in competition, and note their firing pin fall, you may conclude that .220 is just fine. How does your rifle shoot?

Boyd so are you saying work to correct the fall and the hand off takes care of its self??
Just trying to take care of the horrible (.025) drop and figured if Kelby says .240+ that would be what it needed. I don't mind the cost of the new hanger. And it shoots good but maybe it would help it be a little better...

If you are seeing a drop on handoff, moving the trigger back will correct that and increase your pin fall, giving you what you want. You may not have an accuracy problem, but if you do not like the fall, an adjustable hanger may allow you to fix it.

called Kelbys' and had about a half hour discussion with them and decided to get a .030offset hanger. They don't list them on site but they have a pretty big selection.

You can get the Bix N Andy hanger in which is adjustable via a set screw and open ended mounting tabs.
