Bolt handle timing and Cocking piece

Remington 700 bolt timing.
#1 Has anyone ever timed a bolt handle and the bolt body is past the handle in the back just a little?
#2 I have notice on some Remington actions when screwing the striker back in the bolt, it will go passed the bolt notch about a 1/4 turn, and on other bolts it maybe a half of a turn past the small notice. Why is this?

I can’t speak to the changes you referenced but I can tell you that my RR receiver that Accu-Tig corrected protruded past the handle as pictured above AND now cocks on opening instead of needing a slight amount of withdrawal and cocking on close. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced that same benefit or not. Just sharing the experience.
