I haven't used the carbon fiber one. The aluminum one is a bit heavy, but not unmanageable. I converted mine to ball head using a kit from
@OpenSpaces You can purchase the kit complete with a ball head or buy just the bushing, bolt and adapter plate if you want to purchase a ball head elsewhere. The ball head makes this set up work pretty well. Install an anti-cant level on your scope and you're good to go. IMHO, as the Bogpod comes from the factory, it's less than desirable to use. Aiming and leveling your rifle is a struggle. Might be OK for target shooting, but for shot acquisition in a hunting situation it could very well be a problem.
****UPDATE*** ****I have been working on a printed bushing to replace the aluminum one for a few reasons. Main one being availability, I can print these like any of my other items so sourcing is not an issue. I can also pass the cost savings on to you guys and a little more weight reduction. I...
