You'll never get one from a PD or LE anything. It would be a huge liability for a LE center to sell one used. The vests have expiration dates on them. So they expire, No not really but for liability reasons they do. We always had new vests every few years due to that reason. Claims of the vests breaking down from flexing during use in and out of vehicles, etc. I'm retired now and have several vests from my career but honestly I cannot remember the names of any. Second chance and point blank were a couple but I think they are out of business today. I don't think you can go wrong with armor today. Classes vary in vests. Weight will also dictate the rating of the vest. They've got much lighter over time but there not light.
