Ya jerry that's what them be. It's a old picture I fixed it long time ago. I wasn't to worried about marring the sleeve but it made adjusting kinda a painIf that's the bottom of the setscrew marks in your inner sleeve, you might want to throw the setscrews into the lathe and flatten the bottom. I will reduce your required torque quite a bit. Those are manly man bites. --Jerry
This is one I made from a D1-4 back plate and a chunk of aluminum. It also doubles as a barrel spider. Uses 5/16-28 screws w/ brass tips. Should probably increase the screws to at least 3/8 but haven't taken the time. It works well for Remington's, haven't tried anything else in it. I bought a centerless ground rod off of ebay then turned/bored some tapered bushings out of 12L14. It seems to work pretty well although, admittedly, I haven't had anyone check my work to verify.
I also have one of the long heavy walled tube versions but I haven't used it in a long time. It did work well for the couple of Mauser's.
