Blueing touch-up on revolver

I have acquired a S&W 18-4 with target hammer and trigger from late 70s maybe '80 or '81 as i haven't looked into the serial # in a while and have forgotten. While it's overall pretty good though it has some rash I assume from riding around on its side in a truck and thrown in a sock drawer from what the previous owner told me. Is there something that would somewhat match as it kills me to see it. Barrel also has a spot not pictured. There are a couple of spots as pictured on the cylinder

Oxpho Blue from Brownell's has worked well for me. It makes a fairly intense blue, but it's less dense than a proper hot blue.

I have had great success with touch up bluing on all my firearms. Clean / degrease with 91% alcohol and 000 steel wool. Apply the bluing and let sit for about 60 seconds. Rinse with clean water and dry. Repeat if not dark enough. Blend with 000 steel wool. The key thing is to take your time.
I use Birchwood Casey bluing.

The problem with cold blue is that it doesn't last. Of all the ones I have tried Oxpho Blue Cream is the best. Clean the metal with alcohol or acetone, heat it with a hair dryer to about 120 degrees before you apply the blue. Wear rubber gloves so you don't get any body oil on the surfaces. Wipe off the first coat and re-apply as many times as you need to match the bluing on the gun as best you can. When you are done, wipe the blued areas with alcohol and neutralize the bluing solution with gun oil or it will rust.

I ordered the oxpho blue and I think it turned out ok. Not professional but much better. I'd say good metal polishing before hand would yield even better results.
