Tim, I did some testing for him as he wanted some feedback on what he was doing. we corresponded a bit about tuners and bloops. I know he made a bunch of bloops for Marty.
I admit I didn't do a very in-depth testing as I started to migrate to lite tuners. as you know I am a believer of finding the right amount of weight for the barrel just like an iR50 sporter once you can do that you are done fooling with anything else.

My last email to him was last September he was fine. he plays golf and poker. he lives in a senior community in FL. he likes to help with his older neighbors' cooks and delivers food to them.
he was shooting ARA in Lakeland when he first moved to FL. I don't think he shoots anymore.

Work or don't work is actually totally irrelevant. The facts of the matter are that there are a bunch of shooters consistently hammering out huge targets and aggs using the tubes. This leads to a second fact that there is no way the tubes can be hurting these shooters. Which leads to the conclusion of why would anyone not use one.

Which goes back to simply testing to see if they work for your application. Testing is the key to all things that we eventually use or do not use, it either helps, doesn't help, or is detrimental to accuracy IMO, so just test and see.

The Bob's tube I use works great for me. I've tried them on 7 different rifles along with a Harrell Tuner, only one rifle didn't shoot just a little better with the tube.....it was an Anschutz. The other six rifles were go to go.
I'm told the ID of the tube isn't straight all the way through but has a taper of some sorts to it. I can feel the taper when cleaning the inside of the tube..






Here are examples of how my rifle shoots for me....5 shot groups.

Jerry, I'm sure your rifles aren't getting hurt by using Bob's tube but I'm confident they can shoot just as well without it. You just need to test more and find the right settings. Same with the Anschutz. You need to test more and find the right setting with the tube on

Well...to be honest Pat.....I could probably shoot my rifle just as well standing on top of my head. LOL!!!

The owner of the Anschutz is an older gentleman with some health issues so he can't hold out long when shooting. I was having trouble slowing him down shot to shot while trying to tune his rifle. I was watching the flags trying to keep him in the same condition while he was shooting. I think he started seeing the importance of flags because I was calling his impacts without looking at the target. We got it close but I'd really like to do more with him. Maybe I'll get the chance.
