bloop tube question

anyone use a bloop tube on a 10/22?

I use my 10/22 for silhouette and wanted to install a bloop tube with adjustable weights to play with the balance, however I havent found anything for a .920 diameter barrel.

any suggestions, no machinist here so making one would be pretty difficult. I do have an idea of what I'd like so if anyone has machining skills I could pass on a design.

Thanks for reading!

About 12 years ago Scott Medesha made a bloop tube for my Anschutz 2013. I used a bloop tube to extend the distance between the front and rear sights, not for altering the rifle's center of balance. Here is is website: http://www.medeshafirearms.com/

I just tried a 6 and a 10 incher on my Anschutz and it caused all sorts of vertical. Went from shooting an inch at 100 yards to 6 inches and all vertical so they don't work on every gun. But another rimfire that I have does really good with a blooper so you have to try it.

I would not attach a bloop tube as a way to change the balance. Look at how XTC shooters add weight to an AR. They install lead inserts into the buttstock or under the handguard.

I would figure out how much weight you want and where by temporarily taping some weights on the rifle and using it (such as carrying it in the field).

Once you figure out how much weight you want and where, then I would look at either attaching it at the sling swivel, or cutting a channel in the stock under the barrel and adding lead. A series of holes (not drilled through all the way), and then filled with lead shot and topped off with epoxy should give you all the weight you want along the length of the stock.
