blitzking vs vmax

which do you think is more accurat and has better stopping power am currently shooting 65 grain v max through my 6 mmppc they have great stopping power but only getting 0.75 groups at 200 .is that what is too be expected of that bullet at that range for more accurcy would i need to use a purely match bullet have heared that the blitzkings are very accurate.

I shoot both 55 Blitzkings and 58 V Max out of my PacNor 6mmBR with a 12 in. twist. I really can't tell which is more accurate for both shoot in the 1/4 inch catagory using 32 1/2 grains of H 322 or 34 grains of Varget. I have shot several hundred eastern woodchucks with both bullets and suspect the Sierras might be more explosive, but both bullets work well.

In my gun I need to seat the VMax a little deeper than the Blitzkings to clear the rifling.

I suggest you see which works best in your gun. If you can't tell any difference as I can't, then do as I do and shoot some of both. Incidently both have the same point of impact in my gun.

Everything those other guys said.:D

You might try some of the other bullets that are both accurate AND good varmint bullets. Like the Berger MEFs. In my PPC varmint rifle I shoot the 60 grain MEF. It is almost as accurate as the Benchrest bullets and makes a nice "plop" on the little stuff like burrowing owls, eagles, and such.;) In a 26 barrel I can get them up to 3550 using my standard BR load of 51 clicks of V V 133.

55-gr. Blitz-Kings and 58-gr. and 65-gr. Vmaxes have been very accurate in my 1:14 twist, but find the Vmaxes need to be seated deeper into the lands to get good consistency.

Not to sound sarcastic, but if that Cooper is consistently shooting 3/4-in. groups at 200 you need to take it to an IBS benchrest match: the 10-ring is 1-in. so you are guaranteed a 250 with whatever X count you can get. At our last 200-yd. benchrest match only two guys posted a 250 with 30 BR HV rifles.

Cheechako has good advice about other varmint bullets. I shoot the 80gr Berger varmint bullets in my 8twist 6BR and they are noticeably more accurate than the 75gr V Max's I shoot. However the V Max is probably the most explosive bullet I have tried, they never walk away from a V Max.

went with the 65 grain v max have manged a few groups just over half an inch at 200.have been fireforming my 220 lapua brass my load is 26.5 grains of n133 with the 65grain v max accurcy is very good even whilst fire forming and i have used this load to take a few roe deer and quite alot of fox.have been chest shooting the foxes and everyone just drops on the spot makes finding them easy at night.

Not sure how much better that can get. The BK and Vmax were about the same with the nod going to the BK in blowing up the prairie dogs and accuracy in my 223 AI. Shooting the 70g BK and the 65 and 58 in my 6 BR, all about the same.

Try some H-335 with your 65's once the brass is formed. You will be very surprised at the accuracy/speed. You will get three times the barrel life compared to 133. Best accuracy will be right on the heels of a max load, use only 7 1/2 or BR-4 primers and jam the lands.

I think that you will shrink those groups at 200 with a little luck from the wind.
