BLC-2 in .204 Ruger

Hey guys,

I have a reasonable amount of BLC-2 and was considering using it in my .204. Have any of you fellow .204 shooters developed loads with this powder. I am also open to suggestions, I read elsewhere that Reloader 10x was very good.

Rifle: Kimber Pro Varmint .204, Bushnell Elite 4-16x 40.

Cheers,

Michael.

I shoot 29.5 grs of BLC2 under 35 grn Bergers With fed mag primers vary acurit My gun Sav wont take the max loads in all parts of the country,Temp and eliv) So this load is safe in my gun from the mid west to AZ to Id. I Like this powder.

I didn't have time to do a ladder test last month, so I let my grandson shoot a round,5 reloads of 39gr sierras' w/28.gr. of BLC-2). He printed 4 in .5, and the 5th. pushed it out to .85. Over the past year, I'd tried all the recommended powders and both of hornadys' 32 and 40 gr bullets with very discouraging results. Patterns looking "SHOTGUNNED" with nothing repeatable if a group happened to approach moa. I'm just waiting for the right weather to come along on my day off to run the tests at the range, Steve-Share your sport.

I shoot 39gr Blitzkings in front of 30gr of BLC-2 out of Savage LRPV with 5 shot groups averaging under .5". 25.8gr of RL-10X gets me the exact same performance.

I have quite a number of .204R'-- Remington, CZ, Savage and custom actions, some with factory and some custom barrels. My test load for any new rifle or rifles that someone questions, is 30grs. of BLC-2 and a 39 grain BlitzKing seated well off the lands. This load has proven to be accurate in all the .204's that I've worked with, other powders may do a bit better in some rifles, but BLC-2 and RL-10X seem to work well across the board. I favor the BLC-2 only because of the burn rates differences between lots of RL-10X. N-133 is worth a try,may be my favorite)in any .204. It's usually super accurate with little fuss if you don't mind paying the cost and your powder measure can handle it.
