Blackstar Barrels or Brux Barrels, whose got one?

I was wondering if anyone is shooting either of these barrels and how they liked them? It's been awhile since I've heard anyone even mention Blackstar, and I was wondering why? Also, how is the new line of Brux barrels looking? Anyone have any extended trigger time with them and measure throat erosion compared to other manufactures? Thanks in advance.

I've had a few Blackstar barrels over the years and all have shot as good as any other top end barrel and cleaned as good if not bette than any out their.

The trouble with them is the material they are made from is ALOT harder than the normal 416 that most other SS barrels are made from. It realy not any harder to chamber, it does take a little longer but if you take your time and "listen/feel" what the reamer and barrel are telling you then you can have a chamber cut as well as any other.

My smith uses Brux barrels and highly reccomends them, says they shoot and clean as well as any Kreiger or Broughton hes used.
AND their cheaper and take about 1/2 the time to get
Ask about their intrupted fluting, its a realy cool looking option, here is a pic of my smiths 7mm-300WSM with that fluting and a Brux barrel

Marksman, I don't know how many makers barrels got the Blackstar treatment, but I'm just breaking in a Walther Blackstar barrel in .30 x .378 Wby. No conclusions yet, but it appears that it will get to 1/2 moa,,I hope). I do know that the treatment makes the bore slightly oversized. Awhile back, Joel Russo had some Walther/Blackstar barrels at very good prices.

Right now, if I were looking for a barrel, I would just order a Lilja and be done with it.

Just my opinion

Tom

+1 for Brux Barrels, mine have all shot straight and cleaned easily.
