BLACKBIRD barrel break-in--375 Cheytac Benchrest

The splash is what makes the 50 BMG and the other big bullets a great long range hunting round. They are impressive when shooting rocks at 1500 plus. Matt

About 5 o'clock Tuesday I got set up on Rocky Top ll on the 2,000 yard line. The sun was setting and a thin layer of clouds made it unusually dark. I told Shayne that it is too dark to see the splash, but I just had to take a shot. I cranked up to 53 moa and touched one off. I saw SPLASH!!! Just to be sure I fired once more. SPLASH same spot. 2 moa low, 2 moa right. I dialed the Leupold in and tried shot #3. I was firing at a small dark spot. Shot #3 fell about 3 feet short. Chambered another round and #4 went maybe a foot high. I told Shayne to crawl under and take the last shot.
Shayne had a big smile and said shot #5 was so close it may have hit the aim point.

Up to this point, I am very happy with the rifle. I have done zero load development. I have not worked with bullet depth or powder charge. I can't wait to get a bushing die from Robert Whidden so I can lower the bullet grip.

Shayne took Shot #5

Next time out I have a 2500 yard spot. That will be my longest attempted shot to date.

They told me they did not make one in a clam shell for 1.450 inch
They make one like what you have now, was my meaning. He didn't have to custom make that one because of the size. Harrell are great folks, and I didn't want them to miss sales.

My round 5 port magnum is a side discharge and is 1.5 diameter. It could be turned down flush with your barrel for a seamless appearance. The first port is 90 degrees to direct the blast away from the shooter. The proceeding ports are angled to further reduce recoil. It is designed specifically for the chey tac cartridges. It will damper the recoil down to nothing. I have a customer who sent me a video of a kid shooting his 375 cheytac improved in a 17 lb rifle and had no issues with recoil. My website doesn't have the round version on it yet but if you call in the order I could do it. 125 shipped.

I left my phone # on your shop answering machine. I want your brake.

Just ordered a brake from Ryan Pierce of Piercision Rifles. Very nice. Returned my call promptly.

Birdog. Thank you for your business. You will like the brake I guarantee it.

Cole: haven't moved my stuff over yet. had some serious delays in getting the building up and concrete poured. Just got poured last week. They're putting in the walk in concrete vault next week and then they will build the other rooms around it. I plan on moving stuff over in 3-4 weeks. I gotta get a bunch of barrels chambered before I disconnect the machines. The nice thing about the location is right across the road is a 450 yard range. Youll have to come up once everything is moved and setup.

right now Cheytac brand 350 gr.
I am going to try Cutting Edge 377 next. Higher BC, heard good reports on them

hope all goes well with everything ryan. if I didn't have such a messed up schedule and lived a little closer I would give you a hand. I will definitely come check it out, I hear you will be closer to Brock too. sounds like a reason to fire up a premium cigar and tip some back.
