Bipod what to buy?

I`m looking for a good bipod that can handle recoil and weight to put on a 375 cheytac and an A-5 stock ,weight is approx 20 lbs. Any sugestions?

I've been shooting Harris' for quite some time and recently bought an Atlas V8. I've only mounted it thus far as it's been raining here for...well I honestly don't remember. Anyway, it seems like it's going to be a real nice piece. Might be another option for you to look at.

That ATLAS V8 looks like a nice heavy bipod let me know how it works.

It's actually a little lighter than the Harris. When UPS dropped it off, I thought the box was empty.

Good luck.

I used a Harris S-BRM with a pod-loc and Phoenix tactical accessory feet for a long time, then I got an Atllas V8. Having owned several Harris bipods I thought the quality and function was great, but the Atlas you must simply try, its simplicity in design and function is outstanding.

Atlas all the way, I did a how to install a rail on a A5 over on snipershide in the gunsmithing section, the thing that sets it apart from a Harris 6-9 swivel with PodLock is it breaks slightly over center allowing a shooter to very easily to load the bipod, and when shooting movers the ability to pan while still keeping it loaded is awsome.

I like the Atlas also BUT I think there is too much play in the components compared to the Harris. This is on purpose to offer more angles etc. In short i feel the Harris is more accurate but for tactical comp the Atlas may have more advantages. Think about modifying a Harris or the atlas to improve function for your needs. i have seen folks replace the legs with solid SS and even cut 2 or 3 different types of bipods up and re-make the best of all worlds. For pure accuracy with options think about running a Harris with a pic rail and quick detach. Then have a solid frame wide bipod such as the Sinclair for when you really need it to shoot tight groups. Takes only a minute to change them out!
