Another approach----had accuracy problems shooting a Harris bi-pod
of a weathered wood bench.

Another shooter suggested using a small sheet of glass under the legs.

I didn't like the idea of glass but got s piece of plexiglass and put some
oil on top it------much smoother operation and better accuracy.

Maybe use anything with a hard, smooth surface. Hope this helps to
find better methods.

Another shooter suggested using a small sheet of glass under the legs.

I often use a plastic file folder. It lets the legs slide back smoothly. It also helps to not use the Harris (notched) legs fully compressed, they're not as solid as when they're extended 1 notch.
