bipod scope stand

What bipod stand (or should they be called tripods?) do you guys use to support the scope close to the rifle when shooting prone?

I have an old one that also allows for a long rod to be used as when shooting standing at 200y (X-Course), but its base is too large to set the scope close enough to the rifle so I can look through the spotting scope without having to change my prone shooting position.

Thx!

There are off-sets available for the scope stands. Try Giraud or Creedmmor. If it is a 5/8" rod you have have to make one but it is not rocket science. Mine is about 8". Some F-class shooters have been using still camera tripods that adjust out and down enough to place the scope literally anywhere you want it (some using straight eye-pieces instead of 45* to put the scope right next to the rifle scope so they can look forward without moving their heads at all).
I tend to place the eye-piece higher at my left eye height so my head/body movement is minimal.

I prefer the Freeland tripod for it's wider stance(3legs) & adjustable legs over the Freeland Bipod(2 legs).

The billet units as previously mentioned work well & are smaller-easier to transport.
