Bipod decision

Atlas. The GG&G has been around forever and has never really caught on. The Atlas is kind of the standard right now, and continues to get better with revisions. Don't forget about the good ol' Harris as well. I own a couple of each and use them both.

I got to play around with an atlas for a bit and was not a big fan of all the play in the legs and how they spun. The cant and pan shortly stopped working on me. I sent that one back for a refund and have heard pretty good things about the GG&G

The new Atlas legs supposedly don't spin. Mine spin and it's never bothered me. As far as the GG&G, I've never once seen one used in competition. Not saying competition presence is everything, but competitors tend to use the best equipment they can get their hands on. Have you tried a Harris? They are fast to deploy and have been used in various disciplines for decades.

Atlas has the addressed the issues of the spinning legs and the pan issues in the new PSR bipod. I just got ahold of my first ATLAS V8 and the pan and tilt has a lot of resistance between the legs and the attachment point.

The slack in the bipod is meant to take the recoil of the rifle and not have the legs jump or move, along with good body position to stay on target.

I believe the claw feet will not let the legs spin so it's a non issue for me

I have an atlas v8 with claw feet and it works good. If I could do it over, I would have gotten the LRA bipod.
