Binoculars

Could anyone recommend binoculars for someone who wears glasses.

Normal binocs are a pain in the rear for someone who wears glasses as you have to remove your glasses to use them.

Would like to keep the price under 300.US.

Most quality binoculars have either screw in eyecups or twist down eyecups for eyeglass users. Do you have an idea on what magnification, roof or porro prism, and also size of the pair ?

jb77, I wear glasses and i have a pair of leupold wind river 7X30 binos they have fold down eye cups that work very well even when used for long periods of time. i also have a pair of burris roof prism that have screw in eye peices that work as well. treeman

Just went through this with a friend who was going to buy a set for his father-in-law. $300.00 was the budget also.
We went to Cabela's and messed around for over an hour looking through everyone in that range.
We both came to the same choice. Nikon Monarch ATB 8X42 List price of $289.00.
If I was in the market, these would be it.
In the mean time I'll use my Swarovski's.

I have used and bought a number of pairs of binoculars over the years and the best pair that I have ever had is what I use now. Steiner Predator 8X30. They are under $250.00 they are light and have fold down rubber eye cups for using glasses and the greatest thing is that you set them once for your eyes and then it does not matter what range you are looking at they are in focus. They are very clear and in low light conditions you can see great definition. Oh, and they are tough as nails.

+1 on the Steiner 8X30's, I will not set in a tree stand with out them.
I like my 12x42 Pentax for long range, but will never part with the Steiners.

Thanks for he replys, the pair I have now are terrible, its almost as if the eye relief is wrong. With glasses its like looking through a rifle scope at arms lenght. I am going to Cabelas after the new year and will try the reccomended models.

I will kick you one more + for the Steiners i have the 8x42s and they are the best that i have looked thru. When i bought mine i looked thru them all and they can not be beat for the money!! :thumb:
