Bill Shehane Has Passed -- R.I.P. Bill

I never met him but had multiple phone conversations with him when I first started benchrest. He was informative, knowledgeable, and above all just a pleasant man to talk too. First conversation it was like I had know an him for years.

Sorry to hear that. Bill helped me through some brass issues with the then-new 6.5-284 cases for a 30-284 I was working with. His help and direction was very valuable.

Prayers for all his family and friends.

Certainly one of the most iconic, innovative individuals in the shooting sports. His contributions are immeasurable and his legacy will be remembered for a very long time. RIP!

Sad. Ok...lets see some of the handiwork of Bill and Diane in the form of stocks you might have as well as other items. The man is gone but his work lives on.

Bill kind of "mentored" me from afar. I spent more than a few hours with him on the phone over the years since 2010. I sat and talked with him at the 2011 IBS 1k Nats and he coached me up some. Every time I called, or when he called me, the first words out his mouth, he would ask me if his new Mustang was ready. Kind of a running joke.

I wonder if he ever got that Mustang he wanted??

RIP BILL

sorry to hear that about Bill, he was a great guy! Back in the the 90's he always called Me Kathy's Husband!
My wife was Kicking everyone's butt at the time and him and I busted on each other.
It's been a while since I've see him, But he had lost a lot of weight so I figured he was doing well.
He was spending time with the family, that's why he wasn't shooting.
and I regret not calling him, I still have his number. So Kathy can tell him now how I did all the gun work.

My thoughts are with family and friends. I didn't know the man, but Eric Cortina always talked about his .284(?) Shehane. To this day, I still don't know if it was cartridge, action or an overall build. Time to find out.

I lost a brother a month ago and his outlook on his past and his unknown future was so positive it was and is addicting. I wish that experience on Bill's family and friends.

Sadness comes with smiles. Upon reflection.

There will never be another man with his class and knowledge in the shooting game. Bill was a dear Friend and competitor. He always offered his help to anyone looking for knowledge. His passing marks and end to an era of shooting advancement that I call The Golden Age of benchrest.

Rest In Peace My Friend,
Bob Pastor
