Has anyone had a scope power increased by Bill Ackerman? He can increase a 36 x to a 50 power. I was thinking of getting it done but would like to know what others think.

Boosted scopes rarely have good resolution...I have had 2 boosted scopes one by Ackerman and one by Premier Reticle...both were so-so and were soon sold/traded...If they were all the rage you would see them on the firing line instead of the Sightrons and March variables...I have even tried the Gene Davis Optical booster (screw-on lense) it was dissappointing...if you can afford a scope made at higher magnification buy it versus a boosted scope...that being said have one boosted and make you own decision...it is a cheaper way to go in some cases..
