Biggest chuck I have ever seen!

Wayne, absolutely no loaded ammo for my Swifts :o but will be done loading for them by weekend for some fall chuck hunting. I have a super accurate bone stock Savage LRPV in 22-250 that I bought from a member here and my son wants to use that for his reach out and touch em rifle with 53 V-max. We'll be hunting next week weather permitting with a good friend of mine who is also a member on site. (civil82) He has some nice honey holes on Amish property.

Mr. Majestic, sounds like you had fun today! Those chucks are trying to woof down all the chow they can before this coming winter... Hopefully not as bad as last year.

Tan it and hang it on the wall. Tanning shouldn't cost but a hundred bucks if you take it to a taxidermist. I know they aren't much for fur value, but that's ok.

A recently departed local legend, who was notorious for the fine art of exaggeration (typical of Pennsylvania Dutch heritage) had a habit of driving around on summer afternoons trying to entice locals to accompany him on a tour for GH's.........one of his more famous lines " Quick - get your gun, I just saw grossa grundsau.....he stands bigger than a bar stool!"
Same guy, after shooting a cat while rabbit hunting, is approached by a car and an irate woman starts accusing him of shooting her cats......he countered in a stern voice "NOW SEE HERE MISSY, I have not even seen any cats today".....as he nonchalantly pushes dirt with his foot into the GH hole to cover up the evidence.
Same guy is confronted by a neighbor who complains she has a nuisance cat living in her crawl space, Russel says "No problem - I'll send Skippy ( a small rat terrier) in there....he HATES cats." With Skippy in his arms, he looks into his eyes and tells Skippy in Pa Dutch " Katz, Katz" and sends the dog into the access door. Didn't take long for all hell to break loose, and the commotion lasted minutes. Finally, the cat comes leisurely strolling out - none the worse for wear, then a minute later a bloodied Skippy comes straggling out to which Russel says :"That was one MEAN pussycat!

I am not trying to outdo anyone here, but in the mid 90's, I shot a large female rockchuck in Central Oregon that measured 28" from the head to the base of the tail . It was the biggest thing I have ever seen. Shot the thing in the head at 200 yards with a Sako 223. I have plictures of it around somewhere. I did not know they got that big.
