Bigger 10/22 Action Screw

Has anyone seen a 10/22 action screw with a bigger head on it, I have have searched all over with no results.

Try a Do it Best or Ace Hardware store. They usually have a pretty good selection of ofball screws. I picked up some with allen heads and it makes it easier to tighten them down especially if you are torqueing them down. It is a 12 X 24 thread.

Why would you need that ? Does the pillar need replaced too ?

The hole in the after market stock is bigger and requires a washer so the head will not pull through

Bigger takedown bolt for 10 22

Has anybody drilled out and rethreaded the hole in the barrel that the takedown screw goes into to either a 1/4 or 5/16 hole. If so did it help any to keep the barrel torqued down in the stock? Another plus is you could get a more readily available screw vs the 12 24 screw that it uses now.
