"Big Stuff" in Light Package

Lapua40X

California Hunter Education Instructor
Met a fellow shooter at the range today. He had an assortment of rifles including a Remington, Weatherby Mark V and Kimber. I was amazed with the Kimber (Model 84M Mountain Ascent in .308). Nicely made, couldn't have weighed more than five pounds with the scope mounted. I suspect the well designed muzzle brake tames its recoil enough (didn't get a chance to shoot it) to make it a suitable hunting rifle.
Anybody here have any experience with it? For a week long hunting grip it seems to me it'd be a lighter load to carry than my lunch.

I have a Kimber "LongMaster" in .308... It is absolutely the most beautiful "off the shelf" rifle I have ever laid eyes on. The INSTANT I saw it, I HAD TO own it! AND it shoots every bit as good as it looks. I suspect the other Kimber will do just as well... Mine came "pillar bedded / glass bedded" with a "match chamber (I don't know what that means), target crown and fully (and I mean FULLY) adjustable trigger that I got down to 2 pounds without ANY problems.. Kimber takes GREAT pains in producing excellent pieces of ordinance...
