Just received this from a major firearms distributor in CA....... let's hope this does not spread beyond the CA border!

THIS IS IMPORTANT!
STARTING NOW -- RUGER IS DROPPING ALL PREVIOUSLY APPROVED CENTER-FIRE PISTOLS FROM THE ROSTER OF CERTIFIED HANDGUNS AS THEY COME UP FOR RENEWAL BETWEEN NOW AND THRU AUGUST.

BY AUGUST RUGER PLANS TO HAVE ONLY THREE RIM-FIRE PISTOLS ON THE CA APPROVED LIST.

AFTER THE SHOT SHOW NEXT WEEK WE WILL HAVE A CLEARER PICTURE OF THE INDUSTRIES PLANS FOR CA IN 2014

MICRO STAMPING CONTINUES TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR THE INDUSTRY - THEY WON'T TO DO IT!

GET THE RUGER PISTOL YOU WANT BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATES BELOW. RUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOLS MAY NEVER BE LEGALLY AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN CA AFTER THE EXPIRATION DATES BELOW!

MODEL EXPIRATION DATE

LC9's 1/16/2014

If you live in CA and had planned on a new Ruger handgun soon, best get out and get it right now!

It's not an infringement of anyone's 2nd Ammendment Rights. It is a private company choosing not to do business somewhere.

Now, CA gun regs adding up to an infringement, that is another story.

State laws forcing companies to halt sales in your state would be an infringement in my eyes..Why don't they just have a state wide gun lock up and allow the owners to posses them from 10 am until noon

Yep. That's the distinction that I was making.

It's a ruse by CA and others to make gun ownership so inconvenient that the supply dries up. They believe that this will reduce violent crime.

I used to hunt Camp Pendleton when I was stationed there. If it wasn't for that I would have went crazy there. I hated that state. I won't spell it out, but I have always said that in California it's alright for a man to .... another man's ...., but its not alright for a man to own a gun. When I got out of the Marines and left that state I swore I would never set foot in it again. And I haven't. As a matter of fact right before I crossed into Arizona on the way back to Texas I pulled over on the side of the I-8 and took a leak to say goodbye to California.

I live in California. Not all Californians are anti-gun. Many of us are pro-gun, but we are outplayed politically. As an attorney, my legal opinion in California creating an approved list, and the state's laws requiring FFLs outside California to register to be able to mail a gun to a FFL in California are infringements that are prohibited by the Second Amendment. The problem is if we file a federal lawsuit, the appeal goes to the Ninth Circuit, which is stocked with liberal judges appointed by democrats.
