It all depends on what discipline or use you intend. The Harris with pod-locs are a great all around option for field use but for single position target shooting there are indeed far more stable options.
I've never purchased an FTR type bipod but I have a sinclair tactical and that thing is legitimate. It's not as quickly deployed as a Harris or other narrow types. It can be deployed pretty wide and low if needed. I got mine on sale and love it but unfortunately it slows me down too much in the tac style comps.
I'll probably look into these flex pods everyone has brought up. Last time I intended to buy an FTR type I was looking at the Third Eye Tactical bipod, but after some sparse communication with them I would not purchase one although they appear high quality.
