Beware of unwritten rules

I guess I will just keep shooting against myself. Using my best ever previous point score or group as the yardstick with which to measure my progress, I win every so often.

I don't even share my scores or group targets on line very often any more. There is no way to prove they are real and I was recently accused ( in RFC) of exaggerating the accuracy of my several different rifles.

As I did with steel guitars (I once owned 12 at one time) and motorcycles (I once owned 5 at one time) I will keep buying and trying out different types of rifles, for the fun of learning something new and sharpening my skills to see how good I can get.

We are moving to Tacoma, WA next month. There are regular sanctioned matches there in a variety of disciplines. I may attend a few, just to see how the pressure of competition affects my shooting.

When I get my 222 from Russ Haydon, I might even compete a bit with it, just for the fun of it, following whatever written or unwritten rules that are thrown at me. In the end, I will still be shooting against myself.

I don't know about you or the rest of the guy's here I have always shot against myself, when I sit down on the line I always wish the guy to the left and right of me best of luck and I mean it. I really don't care how well they do or don't do, I only care how well I did compared to the last time or whatever. Rules are still rules, they should be plain and posted and enforced, no exceptions for anyone.
Wayne.
