Beware of this scammer!!! :(

I've gotten calls where the caller ID says it is it is me calling myself!
Only surpassed by the calls from the IRS telling me I'm in trouble.

Jeez, it just keeps getting better! Mr. Scammer sent me an e-mail stating that he now lives in martinsville Virginia 24112. The one attribute a liar should have is a good memory so that he tells the same story later! ;) I left him a message indicating I still wanted the scope!

He's probably running 8 or ten scams and can't keep it organized. Tell him you have a brother in the next town over that will meet.

I guess Mr. Scammer hasn't been reading these threads! I just called him to see where he was located, and now he says, "Virginia"! I couldn't understand what town he said, so I told him to e-mail it to me. I need to be off here for a while.......so we'll see later!
Scammersburgh Virginia LOL

I saw a blurb on the local Action News about a woman being scammed by a Craig's List advertiser. The police got involved and they advised everyone doing these internet transactions locally, tell the seller to meet you at the police station. They have plenty of cameras and more than likely if its a scam the seller won't show. Not really practical in the case of these forums but with enough good guys here scattered all over the U.S., a scammer could probably be easily flushed.

OT, Remembering back a few years, Does anyone know the disposition of that scammer in Texas who was advertising here? He had some of our members money and never shipped the goods. Just wondering.

I sold an Anschutz smallbore rifle 2 years ago on one of the forums, and 6 months later I had someone show me an Armslist ad for the same rifle. The guy used all the text and pictures from my original ad, including the rifle laying on my own bed. He said he was the original owner. I contacted him and jerked him around about buying it for about a month before he got tired of me. I asked all kinds of stupid/annoying questions, etc. He said he lived in TX, but wanted me to send payment to some woman in Florida because "his FFL moved there, and he's the only person her trusts with his business". I told him I knew a lot of shooters in TX and suggested that maybe we knew some of the same people, and kept asking him to send me a pic of the boldface so I could see if there was any unusual wear or pitting on it, but he'd just avoid topics like that. It was fairly entertaining for awhile. I reported the ad as a scam to Armslist about 20 times, but they never removed it or responded to my complaints. Hopefully no one fell for that one...

Give 'em hell, Steve! ;)

Howdy Erik!
I can't believe this character!! He needs to check these forums for info on his scams! He called me this morning, and I told him I really wanted it and would be going by there on Thanksgiving. You can imaging the stumbling around not being home often, etc. Now he says he'll send it (we didn't talk about method of payment yet) if I e-mail him my address. It might just be the same as the Sheriffs office........

Just tell him that you are an agent at the Kansas ATF branch and that you work a lot of hours, so can he just ship it to your office?

That'd probably end the fun though... :(

Back in 2006 when we were getting ready to retire, we lived in AZ and got cellphones with (of course) an AZ area code.
We now live in Ohio. Several times per week we get calls from AZ phone numbers. The vast majority are from scammers with an occasional legitimate wrong number.

Sometimes I'll scroll craigslist to find a scammer to aggravate and waste their time. Hey if nothing else I'll hit the jackpot and get something on the cheap.

Not sure if Ernie got paid for the rests yet or not, but the dead beat shit never has paid me for my NF comp scope..
The Dallas gun club he belongs to is riding him pretty hard about it..

I keep getting the guy from Mumbai calling and telling me he works for Microsoft and my computer is virus ridden. But for only $49.95 and the dial in code he can fix it......First..MS doesn't have my phone number as it isn't required. 2 a week lately.
