Beware FB and Email Contest Scams

lol. YES you would. Quit foolin. They are ridiculously fun to shoot….
ITs a scam! i fell for 1. email from harbour frieght telling me to take a survey and win a free tool set. the tool set was cheap and the email looked real. just pay shipping 9.95. put in my credit card info and bam! got a text from my credit card company fraud alert. they did not let it go through and i killed my card.had to wait for a new one. since then have recieved more from differant companies. they look real but dont fall for it. If its free or too cheap , dont fall for it. the internet is full of these scams and it will get worse for Christmas.

Last night I found US General roll around tool boxes for $47 each. I put 11 of them in my cart and when I went to check out they gave me a rebate that lowered the price to $99 for all eleven of them and shipping was free.

Of course it's a scam. FB is loaded with them, pretty easy to spot. Some easy flags:
1. Read the ad, and read it like you're grading some kid's homework. Most are poorly written by someone who clearly doesn't have English as a first language.
2. The reasoning behind the "sale" does not make sense, "we lost a lawsuit and have to give one away to every man 40 and over" just answer these 4 questions.
3. Often have a badly photoshopped image with a salesperson in Walmart or best buy clothes pointing at the item.
4. If the photo isn't blatantly photoshopped, it's stolen. A Google image search will usually show you the website the pictures are stolen from.
5. It sounds too good to be true. No one, but no one is going to sell something for a tenth of its real price.
6. It claims to be a brand like Keen shoes that is now closing its store and going out of business, complete with a stolen image of a store front.

For what it's worth, whenever I see those phony ads, I hit the report scam buttons. Sometimes FB even removes the scam ad.

Nobody is going to hand out $2000 crossbows for nothing. Clearly a scam. If I’m wrong then sorry for being so blunt, but why do people keep falling for these scams that are clearly too good to be true. Also, many guys found themselves on a waiting list for the new Ravin crossbows just last month when I was as at the bow shop.

Maybe its included with the 7 day cruise, as long ad you devote 4 hrs listening to time-share property sales.
