Beware FB and Email Contest Scams

Was on Face Book and an add for a free Ravin crossbow was there. Supposedly over stock items and one free per household, It was supposedly sponsored by Cabelas. I filled out the form, answered four questions, then had to pick a package to see if I won and I did. (Imagine that). Then it wants the usual, my mailing address and name and city. I pay only $9.95 for shipping, of course with a credit card. I got cold feet and backed out before filling out any information. I was told long ago if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Was it a scam or not???

If it pans out, I'll gladly give your your money back! Lol! Those are badass crossbows. Kinda like the smokeless muzzle loader thread going now on here. Lots of people still unaware just how far these things have come. They are NOT your daddy's crossbows any more. Those Ravins are super impressive! I'd love to have one myself.

Everything I have seen on Facebook has been a scam. Send a copy of the ad to Ravin and
I'm sure they will tell you it's fake. Leupold VX6HD for $200....excess inventory, Arcteryx $800 jackets for $99... you get the picture.

And Cabela's, if it is via them and

Nobody is going to hand out $2000 crossbows for nothing. Clearly a scam. If I’m wrong then sorry for being so blunt, but why do people keep falling for these scams that are clearly too good to be true. Also, many guys found themselves on a waiting list for the new Ravin crossbows just last month when I was as at the bow shop.

lol. $2000 overstocked crossbows that are so awesome (I know because we own two of them) they have to give them away. Btw, you can’t even ship a ravin crossbow for $10. Do what I did a long time ago and throw out your computer, it’s clearly not serving a good purpose in your house, neither was mine brother.

Kinda reminds me of my 90 year old dad a few months ago.Waiting on his free IPad. Couldn’t get to his bank the next morning fast enough.Fortunately only lost 25.00 but they was other stuff pending…Low life's everywhere. There is no too good to be free stuff.

They are awesome crossbows but highly over priced IMO. But seems all crossbows and bows in general are over priced these days. My old Excaliber still kills deer and serves me well. Not the fastest but not the slowest either. No reason to change now. Unless I got a Ravin for free. LOL But I'd probably just sell it.
