Best umprimed brass to purchase for 270 winchester reloading?

Been loading the 270 Win for over 30 years. My case preference is in this order. Winchester, Remington, then Federal. RWS is excellent but it's harder to find than frog hair.

Winchester brass is excellent, your only problem will be finding it except for the few mainstream calibers, 270 is a mainstream caliber and available lots of places.

PRVI (PPU) .270 brass is the way to go with your particular set up. You or the rifle will not be able to tell the difference between it or dollar a pop brass. It is very good quality brass. I use it in four sizes regularly. Powder Valley has it in stock now for $43.00 per 100.

Winchester is the way to go if you want to spend some time with it to weight match the brass and expand/chamfer the case necks due to dented necks. I have some Winchester brass i bought 5 years ago for a .270 project but found a box of Nosler .270 brass that I took a chance on. I take them out of box prime and load. Very good stuff in my experience. This is only for a deer rifle and counting load work up and dead deer i still have about 25 pieces of new brass so i should be good for 10 years. The Winchester brass is still in bottom of cabinet. I have too many BR style rifles to spend time on brass wise than to have to worry about prepping brass for a rifle that I may shoot 5 times a year. Not a knock on Winchester brass but I like that we have the option to buy some brass that is pretty much ready to go out of box.

Winchester brass does fine. I have a batch of Federal that I've been loading for the last 15 years, but I hear that is not to be found. I use a Lee Collet die for two sizings and then full length size. Works for me.

Winchester is fine but if you can find any PMC is will far surpass Winchester in as far as groups and it's ability to take pressure. PMC is some tough stuff. Groups that I shoot with PMC is far better than Win, and it is rare to find any PMC. PMC was made in Europe somewhere, they will not tell.

Actually, PMC.....Poongsan Metals Corporation.....originally hit the states in the early eighties. They are a South Korean manufacturer. Their introductory motto was "Precision Made Cartridges"

I see no .270 or much else hunting ammo on their website.

In the 80's, they came out with a "Safari" line of ammo, many Weatherby and other cartridges with higher quality brass, this brass was made in the 80's more than likely, and they do not offer this ammo or components anymore. PMC had a plant in Henderson Nevada and they imported the special line of Brass, and loaded the ammo at the plant.

The only time you find PMC components like this is when an individual is selling off their own inventory.
