Best Tracking Optic for $1500 or less

Hello Guys,

I was wondering what your opinions are on my search for a decent quality optic. Im looking for the best optic I can find with the following feature listed in the priorities below;

1. Accurate Tracking
2. Quality Glass
3. Exposed turrets
4. 20-25x max magnification
5. 4-6.5 min magnification

6. FFP would be cool but not in anyway needed

Im currently looking at light used Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50, SWFA SS HD 5-20x50 Tactical 30mm , Vortex 6-24x50 Viper PST 30mm Rifle Scope FFP, Bushnell 4.5-30x50 Elite Tactical 30mm Rifle Scope.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My only fear with the nxs is that I would have to buy used. Id hate to get a dud and have recourse.

My Sightron 10-50 has done good for me so far, I would guess a lower power SIII would track as well.

NightForce NXS or an older Varminter by NightForce.

NF are tanks & while their glass in the first few Gens is not like the ATACR, BEAST, or PMIIs it is more than good enough for me.

The Bushnells HDMRs are great scopes too as told to me by a guy that owns a scope company and tests all brands with Collimators.

You don't have to worry about a dud, Nightforce is guaranteed. I have trouble making weight with my light gun so I Had to put on a Leupold Mark 4 8.5x25 with TMR reticule. I really like this scope also. The price is right up there close to the Nightforce. Can't go wrong with either. Matt

This reticule I find easy to work with. As far as your #1 (tracking) I can report on that later if the weather ever allows me. For the money and a new scope I think it's hard to beat. Shop around for the price also. If you get the chance look though one....the brightness and clarity are surprisingly good.

Nxs all the way. I've tried the vortex and loved it for the money. Zero stop and great tracking.

I have and have used the SWFA 5-25 FFP scope since it first came out. Mine has been beat up, ran up and down with the turrets and just keeps on working. If another brand of scope would hold up as well, I don't see how. I have been very pleased with mine and would buy one again. My brother has a NF you list above and to mine and his eyes, the glass is comparable. I like the reticle, the illumination and the ruggedness. Also, SWFA stands behind their product as well.

Just my opinion, other might disagree....

one area of concern that has become apartant to us is how well do they hold zero and track after several years of temp changes. I refer to scopes that are subjected to being taken out in real hot and real cold conditions. It seams that a lot of scopes don't react real well to these condions. Just my 2 cents

the SEAL's a few years back selected the 5.5-22x nightforce for their accuracy international's.....
i'd say that was a bit of an endorsement.
