Best sizing die $$$ can buy ?

@BoydAllen ... thanx. Helpful stuff.

Yes its a folder and Im willing to accept that variable. My 65CM is a folder too.

And yes... I shoot over wind flags.

Will contact Whidden.

Using virgin, unsized brass. When loading I notice significant difference in pressure required to seat bullets.
New brass has no carbon to lubricate the bullet during seating. AND, I find quite a bit of the new brass uses the bullet as an expander since the case neck is way undersized. To avoid this, I expand the case necks using the 21'st Century expander for the neck tension I want. And I put just a bit of Imperial on the expander so it doesn't pick up brass, and to leave a very light coat of lube on the inside of the neck for bullet seating. Greatly increases the consistency of bullet seating on new brass.

My reason for asking about your neck diameter is to get an idea of how much "work" you giving the case neck each firing cycle, and what bushing you might use during sizing. More work means anneal sooner. And too much reduction in neck diameter on a single step can negatively impact runout.

FWIW, I get much straighter case necks (TIR less than 0.001") by using dies I have honed to the diameter I want, versus using bushing dies.

Thanx @jepp2 .. helpful.

I have more money than time (or patience) so if I ger 3-4 firings, I'll just buy new brass rather than anneal. :)

Order a sizing die reamer to match your chamber and make your own or have your smith make it. Neck size to be .001 smaller than your loaded round neck measures.

If you don't have a drawing of the reamer that cut your current chamber, make a cerrosafe casting and precision measure it.

Since money is no option, I would back up one step further. Measure my unfired brass and order a chamber reamer to match the brass, then order the resizing reamer to match your new chamber reamer. Fit the new barrel and make your new resizing die.

For my own use, I now order reamers in pairs.
