Best shippers for oversize pkg.

I'm getting ready to list a rest for sale and seem unable to find a reasonable shipper.
I'd like to list the item at a " shipped price " to avoid the hassle of going back and forth on the total price.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Third pirate ship..........unless you can fit them in a flat rate priority. Price is set on them regardless of weight but I suspect the rest's are too large.

Pirateship.com is at least half the price or better than any retail shipping center. It’s a great shipping resource. The problem is you need to enter the address of the receiver to get a quote. But it’s very convenient and the quote is instant.

pirateship will shop/cost compare and let you pick between UPS and USPS. It's usually about 40% off the retail UPS rate. But I've also found that if you set up your own UPS account, you can usually find discount codes to get the same price... but honestly just use pirateship because it's so easy.

I think the last rest I shipped was around $60 for shipping - including insurance

In the past, DHL used to be the cheapest for oversized items but I've never really been happy with items I've received when someone choose DHL

However you ship it packing is the key. A rest is usually heavy. Buy a hard case if you don't already have one. I use Fedex or UPS.

UPS has a much better track record of paying claims than anyone else. Pack it securely so nothing can move and become a hammer inside the box. Cover any sharp corners. Also, attach a second address directly to the rest so if box/label gets damaged they can continue delivery.

Fastenal is good, but its basically LTL freight so be prepared for any weird restrictions, though a rest shouldn't be a problem.
