Best scope under 500 over 20x and good bit of adjustment.

More information would be useful, such as what you plan to use it for.

For a general purpose scope at that price point my favorite scope purchased new is a Sightron SII 6-24x42mm. $420 at the time...probably a few bucks more now.

I will be using it for non formal target work and varmint hunting. I have a couple of Sightron 10-50s and a T36 weaver. I like the T36 and 10-50s. The T36 is great I just want less power sometimes for varminting. I also have a v24 weaver, its a great scope but not enough elevation to do what I need. I was wondering what others could find that a good and have a decent amount of elevation adjustment. So I am planning on selling the V24 to partially fund the next one. Thanks, Matt

I should have said in my original post. A variable scope that maxes out over 20x.

Pick up a Super Sniper from SWFA in 20x and I promise you will love it! I prefer the 16x mil/mil myself but you want more zoom. These scopes have TONS of adjustment. Don't get too caught up on the magnification. A 10" steel target was no problem at 1000 yards with my 16X. I wouldn't hesitate to use that power for everything (including small varmints). I have shot my 16x's from 50yd to 1000 and they are great.
