best scope for $500-600

looking for a good not great scope for f class 600 yard. 30 mm tube and high magnification are important. Is a nikon or leupold the way to go or should I look at like a vortex or something not so mainstream. It will be on a 223 ar15 flattop.
Thanks

I love my leupold vxII 6-18, i have several nikon's and most of them won't track correctly or get fuzzy after they get past 18x. I can't speak on sightrons. My money is on leupolds......There is a guy on this site selling a nice used leupold vxII 6x18 for $380, leupold doesn't care if your the original owner they"ll fix it.

I've heard good things about Burris XTR scopes, I bought one but have not mounted it yet so I can't tell you for sure how it performs. I'll let you know once I get it mounted.

The Leupold 6.5-20x with target knobs is one of my favorites. There are also a number of them for sale on the used market priced around $400- $500, and with Leupold's forever warranty coverage, no matter who owns the scope, I would not hesitate to buy another, if I needed it.

I have Burris Black Diamonds, Bushnell Elites and Vortex Vipers and a Crossfire. Haven't ventured past those as of yet. Love them all. The Black Diamonds are fantastic. Looking to get a Zeiss Conquest for a project and a Viper PST for another. I guess I am not really helping, but the Burris's and Vortex's are great. Plus Vortex has phenomenal customer service. A+ in my book.

You should seriously consider a Weaver Superslam. 4x20x50.
they are great scopes. Clear and track great.

Even better get a Nitrex TR2 (Weaver Superslam) for half the Money.

Nathchez shooters supply Did have them yesterday in fine crosshair with dot. about $350.

If they are out I Have another source. Pm Me and I will advise.

Just My 2cents.

I agree with captben's suggestion of the Nitrex TR2 4-20x50 SF scope as one to think about. Very good top quality Japanese optics in it. Just checked www.natchezss.com and it is available from them in 2 kinds of reticles. Which reticle would be best I don't know. Just know I have a 4-20x50 TR2 with the trexplex for my target shooting, presently only up to 200 yards, and the glass on it is really very good and the pullup target type turrets track well. The discontinued Nitrex by weaver scopes still available from Natchez are quite a bargain pricewise for a quality scope on par with brands costing a lot more.

Update!!
You can only get ONE REBATE on the Nitrex scopes!!!
No matter how many you buy. They are a good value but do not think you can buy multiple scopes and get a rebate on each one.
Nitrex says one rebate per household.

I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY.
