Best range finder for 2018

It matters what you plan to use it for. I have owned a terrapin and they are the best for a straight up distance. They do nothing else. Not even angle for shoot to range. If you plan to use it for hunting that is not what you want. I sold mine and got a G7 BR2 range finder. Works just as good on game to distances past where I would shoot and gives you a ballistic solution instantly. For hunting its awesome. If your at the range or playing elr, a terrapin and kestral would extend your range but it takes time to figure your solution. The BR2 actually ranged farther when snowing.

That must have been an older Terrapin unit. Mine has an angle to target setting. FWIW, I upgraded from a Sig K2 to the Terrapin.

I got my new leica on Friday and its really amazing how fast this thing is, the ret/aiming point is also a big improvement over the older models. I have used most of the Sigs(not the 2400B), Leupolds and Swaros and I cant think that any one of them came close to this thing, the BR2 is close but the glass in the new leicas are much better especially when it gets dark. It feels a little more plastic than my 1600B but im not going to do a Facebook torture test and bang the thing into a wall or something.

Love my old Terrapin! I own the Leica binos hdb too. If my Terrapins crap out, I'll get a 2400r
