Best Primer Pocket Cleaner?

I have a small rifle primer cleaner that has no name on it. 1-1/4" long with a knurled end. 7 cutting blades cut into one end that cut in one direction only. It is great. No idea where I got it but more that 25 years ago. I'd like the same for large rifle primers. Good luck since that's all I know of this one. Does someone have a suggestion or idea as to what the best tool for this they know of? The run-of-the-mill ones do not really do a good job at all and I probably have 10 that are next to useless. Also I am not going to make the move to stainless pin set up even though I have read they clean primer pockets.
Thanks.

I have the Hornady primer pocket tool, it has a 2" handle with replaceable cleaning and reamer (should you want them) heads for small and large primer pockets. Sinclair usually has them, but when I checked today they were out. I'm sure others have them maybe Midway. This is the one I have been happy with for awhile now, is it the best ? I can't say but it seems to be a cut above the others I've tried. Hope this helps. Ron...

I always use a primer pocket uniformer on my brass when new. I use the same tool for cleaning pockets upon reloading the cases. Just put in the primer pocket, give it a slight twist. Cleans out every little bit.

Ditto, I am a strong believer on uniforming pockets.

.+1 on reaming the pocket. Don't forget about the flash hole either.

PS; primer pockets don't have to be perfectly clean ;) but my favorite way to clean them is to use a pocket uniforming tool in a handheld drill takes about 2 seconds and has them sparkling.

My Forster case trimmer is what I use. You simply removed the case pilot and replace it with a large or small cleaner bit. It is simple and cleans them evenly

+1 - I use my Forester trimmer also.

I have my trimmer set up with the power attachment and use a cordless screwdriver, can clean pockets as quickly as I can feed them in and out.

I picked up the Redding primer pocket (small/large) ones here recently. Up till then I'd just been using the RCBS brush style ones. The Redding ones take half the time and clean twice as good.

Sounds like you might have one of the old Crocogator tools. As has been said, a primer pocket uniformer works well for this task. My favorite is the Whitetail carbide uniformer sold by Haydon's Shooter Supply, maybe somebody else. If you don't want to use a uniformer, check out the SS tool made by Darrel Holland.

I found these small round wire brushes at a hardware store that was closing years back, and bought about a dozen of them for a couple dollars. Made an adapter to fit my forster trimmer. Takes about five seconds to do a case.

Stainless steel pins, lemi shine, and soap is the best primer pocket cleaner

Agreed. Just started using a Thumler's with SS pins and no more messing around with primer pocket cleaning tools. They come out perfect.

I use a Dewey Crocogator

I use the same thing...works great.

For cost purposes have been using the RCBS steal brush pocket cleaner and has worked very well for me, cleaning better than the metal flat blade style cleaners. Always looking for more efficient equipment to upgrade to.

I use a 2 1/2 drywall screw it works for cleaning the primer hole along with the carbon build up and doesn't wear the primer pocket

that's funny. I actually use a drywall screw to clear the primer hole and then go once around the outside of the primer pocket. it really loosens up the caebon for the brush.

+1 on cost and efficiency. Cleans the pockets without damaging them in any way. For $6.99 hard to beat.

I use the K&M primer pocket uniformer and pocket cleaner. Works great in a cordless drill chuck. Never had an issue with it.
