6x47 Lapua / 6x47 Imp.,Long Dasher) Pics and a powder question

Here is a picture showing difference between 6.5x47 Lapua parent case vs. loaded 6x47 Lapua, and 6x47 Lapua Improved,Long Dasher)

I measured the capacities of the 6x47 and the Improved version

Water Capacity

6x47 Lapua 45.8 grains

6x47 Lapua Imp. 47.8 grains

Has anyone done a Quick Load profile of these two configurations to find a powder that will produce similar velocities as H4350, that burn at a lower temperature?,105-108 gr bullets)

It would be nice to have a couple of more choices.

I have tried H4350, N160, N560, H4831sc, RL 22 in the improved case.

My rifle likes the N 160

,recipe on Daily Bulletin 6/27)

Thanks!

Scott

I have been shooting the long dasher for about a year. I need to mesure my capacity in my case because it sure doesnt look like the shoulder on mine is as far forward as yours is. I will throw some powder and weigh it for you. All i know is its 64.5 clicks :) somewhere around 39gr of N550. I tried 4350 and about everything else under the sun with the 115 D tac bullets. 550 worked the best for me.

Heat,

Thanks for responding.

I have not tried N550. Seemed like 60series,N160, N560) was a better choice for 105-107gr bullets?

I am going to order Quick Load over weekend.

Sunbuilder,
Could you supply me with the case length as well as the COAL including the bullet used for the 6x47Lap.Imp.? I'm looking at re-chambering a 6XC that has a VERY long throat.
Thanks,
Lloyd

My 6x47,30",8-twist Broughton) also prefers N160, especially with Berger or DTAC 115s. A surplus Czech single-base extruded powder called Data 86 is a close second; coincidentally, charge weights with 160 & 86 are nearly identical for nearly identical velocities. That also holds for these two powders in my 6.5x55 with S142MKs. Wish Ramshot/AA would stumble upon another large lot of Data 86...

The N160/115 load I worked up to 2990fps in 65-70F temps last spring chrono'd 3035fps on a 97F day in July, so I backed it off .3gr. Shooting steel at 1000 here at home, it's not far behind a 284 Win. shooting Berger 180s at 2785fps where the wind's concerned.
