So far I've only tested two powders H322 and Varget. I like the Hodgdon Extreme powders for their insensitivity to temperature in the chamber. Varget has fairly consistently out shot the H322. I think the reason is probably that Varget is slower and can get the 68 grain quite easily to the 3400-3450 or so velocity that seems to shoot best in my gun. H322 comes up a little short at 3300 or so. Also, Varget fills the case into the neck, so right full but not compressed.
Do you think there is better than Varget and why? I was considering VV N135 or N140. They seem to be a touch faster and slower respectively than Varget. I also wonder if there is a down side to whatever process Hodgdon (ADI) must be using to achieve the temperature insensitivity?
