The best seating depth off the lands for VLD bullets starts at .080 off. For some reason, jumping them a conventional .020-.040 does not work. I have seated them from .080 to .125 off and the groups shrunk dramatically. I kept some old Palma brass for a hunting rifle with a factory barrel and jump the 185 VLDs .125 and it shoots great. Jerry Tierney (sp) tested this years ago and I found his data accurate. It also works in a 6SLR I have with the 105 VLDs.
