Best places for brass

I am starting to reload my own ammo, and I was wondering if the forum had recommendations for the best place to buy brass. I have a 22-.250 and a .308. Let me know if you have suggestions as to where to buy the brass (used or new). Thanks!!!

Last June I got Lapua 22-250 from Bruno's for $83 per 100. Lapua & Hornady were all I could find and at $75/100 for Hornady I just went Lapua. Right now Powder valley has Privi-Partisan for $47/100.

In .308 I like Lake City LR ( outside of Lapua), which only a week ago was available. you might try using gun bot or ammo seek to find some Lapua brass.

I also like purchasing from brassman brass but mostly for pistol calipers and lake city .223. For Gas guns I definitely prefer Lake City or Lapua. Brassman is in Oregon and ships really fast to where I am.

Another option for .308 brass is to use Federal Gold Metal Match or Black hills once fired. The FGMM case volume seems to be a bit higher than Lapua / LC and the cases are a little thinner. It's pretty easy to find this type of brass once fired and it doesn't require swagging.

OK, you just joined here so , The 308 brass has pretty well been covered, as to the 22-250, "google" / search "1X 22-250 brass", also try Midway, Midsouth **, Natchez, Graff & Sons, Powder Valley
** MidSouth has Hornady 22-250 $38.86 / 50 and Lapua @ 98.32 / 100
Just starting out, I'd look for 1 X or for new go with WW
PM sent on FGMM 4 sale

I've bought 308 brass, but it was a long time ago, the 1990s I think.

308 is such a popular calibre and there are many who just throw it away... Look for heaps of it at firing ranges, gravel pits, friends' places, even lonely spots out in hunting areas. 308 is also very durable brass if you have a decent rifle and load moderately. I still have over 90% of the brass that I reformed from mil-surp NATO in the 1970s. At the moment I'm considering renewing my fish&game membership or to join another organization or both partly in order to try to wear more of it out and to do more 1000 yard shooting. 308 is very versatile. I recommend 150 - 180 grain bullets for medium and large game at various ranges. You should have some heavy RN bullets loaded down a bit for hunting close. Probably 165-168 grain bullets are most accurate at moderate ranges. My rifle and I love IMR4064. It's made in Canada, although we pay Martian prices here...

For .308, I've been very pleased with 1000-packs of once-fired Lake City 7.62 purchased from Monmouth Reloading. I fire these in an AR platform, so I'm looking for cheap, consistent, and durable, and these tick all of those boxes.

Note that this is in general MG-fired brass, and you'll read that Dark Shadows Loom, loose chambers, don't even try it without a small base die, etc., etc., and I believe that to have been true when M60s were in common use, but these days, it'll have been fired in an M240B, and my experience with it has been good; I just use a normal Redding NM FL sizing die.
