Best night optic

Hi all, hoping someone can spare some advice about night optics.

Now I have an issue with kangaroos which can usually be shot by spotlight, but cunning ones flea at light or sound of truck. What I want to do is set up a hide and shoot under moonlight!

My night vision is pretty good as it is, but i still want every advantage I can get. The scope will be mounted on 22-250 Krico, which will be a dedicated skippy gun and only really ever shot at night.

Anyway main question is is biggest lense/ low magnification always better? Not phased about bulk or weight as it will only be shot out of a vehicle or hide and never carried. Thoughts on illumination ? I'm sure I'll get onto makes and models a bit later !

Gen 3 or better anything...... PVS-14 are good. I mounted mine on the objective end of a Sightron SIII 10x50x60 and it worked great. Also on the EOTechs since they have a Night Vision setting. Since the PVS-14 can be moved around with the use of a long scope rail it has my vote. You can also remove it as a hand held monocular or heck if the funds aren't a big deal throw down on a pair and BAMMO you have binoculars lol. I am partial to these as its what I used in the Military and they are very rugged with many different attachments available. Very compact in size also.

Okay thanks, I'm willing to spend up to 1000 on second hand something, that's about what I can justify given it's a buisiness expense. Only interested in u.s or German optics, as there the only thing taken seriously around my parts. Will look into sightron's, don't know too much about them. Leupold is brand of choice due to unlimited guarentee.
