Night Vision

Have any of you tried to adapt a rifle scope to a night vision monocular? I have seen it done and i'm considering trying it myself...of course you can buy night vision rifle scopes but I already have the NV monocular and an extra rifle scope. So I thought it might be worth a shot...any comments or tips would be great. Or just tell me what you think of the idea.

That is a cool idea. I think that I will check it out my self. An Army PFC came to my Air Force JROTC class with a smilier setup. Interesting concept.

I have a night scope and can say this. If your scope is less than a second gen unit it is probably not worth the trouble. I haven't seen any first gen scopes that are very clear. There are a couple of companies out there that offer scopes that attach to a day scope. You will have to remember that shooting at night is a totally different animal than shooting in daylight. You will not be making long shots like you might make during the day. Recognition of what you are trying to shoot will be one big limiting factor. Good luck in your venture.
