Best neck sizing option 20 Practical

I am only sizing the neck from base to bottom of neck about 1.60 & from what I am reading I should be around 1.577. I went to a small based die & now the gun feeds about 98% of the time much better than it was with SB die but still have a hard time getting bolt to open on my AR setup when I want to eject a loaded round to get in the pickup or if I don't give the fwd assist a light push it will dry fire some time to time.

So do you think the neck is my problem still??

If so I have my setup on a Dillon 550 but I have a single stage press I can use what are my best options for sizing the neck down.

I use Redding Type S FL dies and never have any problems. I gave neck sizing up many years ago.

Neck sizing should never be used period but its twice the no-no in an automatic rifle

From your description, I can't tell if you are setting the shoulder back sufficiently. So how much are you setting the shoulder back on your fired brass? You could also color the brass with a marker and see where it is getting rubbed off.

I use a CH4D 20 223 die that I honed the neck to what I wanted. That is what I use.
