Best method to neck down 6.5 Creedmoor brass to 6?

What’s the best method to neck down 6.5 Creedmoor brass to 6? Would using a full length non bushing die be better than a Lee Collet die (or is yet a better way)?

LCD should work just fine for the neck. For shits and giggles just to see if I could, I've done 7mm08 from 308 with a LCD.
LCD should get you where you can fireform them, then proceed as normal.

I use a 6 ARC Lee Collet die to neck down 6.5 Grendel bras to a 6mm neck. Once I have done that I run the cases through an FS sizer die. I have also used a 6 ARC Lee Factory Crimp die when I have too much spring back after the first two steps.

or is yet a better way
With 6CM brass being readily available, I would probably go that route. But I don't know so much about your situation. Chamber neck and if you need to turn necks. Firings on your 6.5 CM brass and if you anneal. Will you continue to shoot both (and the potential for a mix up), etc.

OH one thing I should mention, after running it in the 6mm die you need to check every case for OAL. Some times the cases will grow in length. If the rifle has a tight chamber you should check a load round and make sure that the neck is not too fat for the chamber. Both f these conditions could cause an over pressure. be careful

I don't know anything about the Creedmoor cartridges at all, I have several 260 Remington's and they are so close that I will not change for the difference. That said being they are both Creedmoors aren't the bodies the same?

As far as I know they are.

After shooting my 6.5 CM, I decided to do a 6mm Creed. Since at that time 6 Creed brass in small primer was very scarce.

Since I had about 400, 6.5 brass I decided to just run the 6.5 brass through a 6mm Creed F/L die.

After annealing the brass, I F/L sized it, checked the OAL of the case and trim if needed.

Been using that brass for 3 years now with out any issues.

Of course I did use a dremmel to grind out the .5 in the head stamp so I could easily separate them after a batch tumbler polishing.

I ended up going with a 6 Creedmoor Forster Full Size Bench Rest die to resize 6.5 to 6. I used RCBS lube on neck (inside and out) and body and worked well, very easy. Gave me about .003 neck tension and pushed the shoulder back about .002” with the brass I used and how I set the die. Case length didn’t change. Now I can use this resized brass as is or resize with a bushing die. We’ll see if I run into any problems after doing a bunch of cases but so far so good.

I use the Forster on my 6x47 coming down from the 6.5 Lapua. I do use the Redding body die in between, but probably not necessary. Both dies I just touch the shell holder and that seems to work well.
