best long range scope under $300?

Not well known, but SWFA also have the Falcon scopes. Have one on a Savage Mod !0 in 223. 3.5-18 FFP. Very well made Chinese scope for little money. The brand is UK owned and has a good reputation with field airgun shooters. Have had no issues with the scope, tracks well. They also sell a 10-50, under the brand, which you may recognise under other names, Japanese built.

All Burris?

Yup,. all Burris, now, even got a 4x on my RWS Pellet gun ! I was, a Leupold man, but, after comparing Burris to, my older, Leupold's and a 4 x 14 Vortex ( not sure, which model but, was about, a $400 scope ) we found, Burris to be, clearer/ brighter at, eve time. PS; the 4.5 x 14's are, the AR-223 models ( Plex, NOT E-1's ) that, I "Dial" up to,.. ONE "turn" to, 700 yards on the .270 WSM with, 140 AccuBonds at 3,150 FPS and 675 yds for .243 87 gr Berger HVLD load @ 3,100 FPS. They cost less than, $250.00 each ! I called Burris and the Tech guy said that, they were built the same way and ON the same "line" as their more expensive, 4.5 x 14's ! They may not be as "crisp" on the Click's as some scopes, tho But, with the "Tape" my son makes for me,.. they work,.. FINE ! The Warranty, is second to none, also ! To be honest, I haven't tried, a lot of other "New" Scopes and there "may" be better, out there and I don't want to sound, TOO, "biased" or, the guys will kick me around for, not having, the latest / greatest,.. Chit ! I'm just, "old School" so IF, not broke,.. why mess with, IT ?

Just one word of caution with less expensive scopes. The glass on many is surprisingly good now days. Not the equal of the best scopes but still very usable. The ability to stand up to recoil is a problem for some of the brands and a warranty repair is time consuming and not always a fix. Often they send you a new scope which may or may not be tougher. Tracking can be rather variable, some move the point of impact more or less than advertised. The absolute requirement for long range is once you have your scope hitting where you are aiming, that the point of impact does not shift. At long range to try to deal with changing conditions, wind mirage etc, with a scope that changes POI with each shot will drive you crazy no matter how good the glass is.

Glass and turrents, you may find one of quality on entry to mid level priced scopes but probably not both. It helps to take advantage of discounts/sales to maximize your purchase.
