best load for 105g Bergers vld

Hi can anybody tell the best load for Berger 105 VLD in a 1-8
26" barrel shooting up 600 yds.Powders I have got Varget & N135
would like some advice before loading for the weekend:rolleyes:

I have trued 40XB with 28 inch 1X8 twist kreiger that consistently shoots .148 to .185 at 100 Yards.
Load is Viht 540 31.0 Grains. Berger VLD 105's Seated at 1.794 Lapua Brass necked at 269
CCi 450 Primers. You may have to play with seating depth, but this will give you a starting point. Have shot some pretty good 1000 yard groups with this load

I have also tried this load with Varget 28.6 Grains was the most accurate at 500 yards but to slow for what I do. You can try working your way up to 31.0 grains

Is this load for Moly or non-Moly?

Varget, Reloader 15, N540. Start all at 29.5, with naked bullet .015" past first contact with lands.

This assumes the bottom of the bearing surface is at least .030" from the neck-shoulder junction.

H4895 also works very well for a lot of people, but the other powders may give you more velocity.

I know 29.5 may seem low, since some guys are running 31.0 grains). But in my 27" rifle, match load is 30.3 Varget, and that's pretty stout,2920 fps).

I have tried both Varget and RL-15, but have had the best success with 31.7gr of RL-15. Velocity is about 2850 fps. I like the CCI-450 primers better than the BR-4. As with any load, your seating depth may vary from mine. You will have to find your rifle's "sweet spot". This load consistently produces sub 1.5" groups at 600 yards in my piece.
