Best lab scale

How long ago was that? I ask because I bought an FX-120i from them a month ago and I paid ZERO tariff. I believe it’s even explained on the website. They only “export” the shipments to the US on certain days. So essentially they’re lumping multiple orders all together under one single export at a time saving their customers potential huge tariff costs.
Bought it in October of 25.

I just screen grabbed this from their website. This held true for me when I ordered… I wonder if that was a policy/procedure they changed recently. My order was 11/22/25 and no tariffs. I do recall waiting for one their “export” dates for the order to ship!

Dang that was pretty recent too. I’d probably email them and provide them a copy of the bill you paid for the tariff. They obviously try to avoid that for their customers. Maybe they’ll try to make it right for you.
My scale arrived 1st/2nd week of October. Order may have been placed end of September, don't recall exactly. Paid initial import fee and figured that just put me even with average current pricing. I was OK with that. The bill for the mixup I just got end of last week. Now that the bill is in the hands of a bill collector, it's probably going to be hard to correct since they would prefer to hit your credit rating.

They prefer money lol. They could give a shit less about your credit rating. A collections agency (seems to have gotten to that point fast) buys the “debt” for pennies on the dollar. If they can collect literally anything, they make a profit. Reporting to the credit bureaus doesn’t pay them a dime. A couple times I’ve been in the unfortunate circumstance to have a bill wind up in collections, I’ve managed to negotiate a “settlement” for CHEAP.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. But for $150 it's likely not worth the hassle spending hours on the phone and a letter writing campaign. I'd rather load a few more rounds and spend some good time with the folks at the range.

As a chemist (for 39 years now), A&D is the budget balance brand of choice. For 3 decimal place resolution, most lab balances have a 4 figure price tag, easily putting a 1 in front of the price of the FX-120i.

If a person is looking for more resolution in an A&D, might want to wait for these.
new A&D Balances FX/FZ 104, FX/FZ 254

I'm perfectly happy with my FX-120i
A granule of stick powder typically weighs 0.02 gn, so the higher resolution really doesn't get you anything unless you want to weigh ball powder to one ball. The extra resolution will double the price, so you have to decide whether it's worth the coin. I'm happy with my FX-120i and have no desire to "upgrade."

Exactly my thoughts.
