Best for rebarreling

I've been looking into sending off my old rifle to have the action squared and rebarreled. For simplicity, and because I don't know anything about the gunsmiths in this area, I'm thinking I'd like to just send it to one of the major barrel manufacturers to have it done (Kreiger, Hart, etc). So my question is who do you recommend? Who does the best work for the best price? Also who has a large supply of reamers in stock so that I can have several options as to caliber, neck diameter, freebore, leade angle, so on?
I might lend a little prejudice toward manufacturers who use the cut rifling process as I understand these have slightly longer barrel life.

Tell us a little more about your project.

What action ? Caliber ? Purpose? And where are you located ? You might be close to a qualilty gunsmith.

Gre-Tan rifles does all types of actions and barreling. And does them very well.

i can tell you krieger has put two barrels on my 700.the work was just fine but the wait was not. it took 3 months before the barrel was ready so i imediately sent the action as she said they would work it in since the barrel took so long. four months of excuses it finally came. i still use their barrels but have bruno put them on.krieger also cost 100$ more.

Well it's a 700 SA, I haven't settled on caliber, but more than likely a 6.5-47 or something similar (Someone mentioned a 6.5-250AI which sounds intriguing). I'm on the east coast and would like to go no farther north than PA and no farther south than NC. I've looked into Precision Rifle & Tool a little, but not much. I sometimes have business in the south, so I'd have reason to be down in that area and could potentially drop the rifle off and pick it up.
I'm leaning towards major manufacturers because I'm naturally distrustful and companies are large and 'visible' couldn't simply up and disappear with my rifle.

I've been looking into this rebarreling project and it dawned on me that there's one question I've forgotten to ask:

What's too much barrel to hang from a SA 700 receiver?
I've gotten several different answers now, some sounded too short, some sounded too long. Is there any consensus?
