Rebarreling

I have 2 guns I’m thinking of having rebarreled and the stocks bedded. Both are custom mausers, one has a CR PJ hart barrel in 22-250, I’d like to rechamber to 6mm improved, the other is in 220 swift I’d like to rebarrel to 257 improved. What’s a good source for barrels that would fit the existing profile? I’m very new custom guns and have no experience with any aftermarket manufacturers. I’m also looking for a competent gunsmith in south central Pennsylvania to do the work.
Thanks.

Call Krieger and talk to them. If you send them you`re barrel, they can match the profile for the new one. They will send it back as soon as they measure it. I don`t know if other barrel makers will do this. Find a smith that understands that he will have to trim the blank, to match the stock.
I did this with a custom stocked XP 100 once. And yes, I had a long conversation with my smith before hand. What I got was a new barrel that matched perfectly. No new bedding needed.
Good luck

I know the one gun is not bedded, the other I can’t remember. If they’re given measurements can they make the barrels?

Sure. But it better be measured correctly. That was way more then I was comfortable doing. I had mine removed, then shipped it. It didn`t take them long to measure and return it.
