best for dasher .236 or .237

All 3 of my Dashers are .236 bore barrels. But I shoot with several guys who run .237's in their Dashers and their rifles shoot very very well. But if a poll were to be taken I would say the majority run .236 bores and especially in the 1000 yard venue. I can't give you a scientific answer except to say some bullets (Lapua Scenars, early lots of 105 Hybrids) prefer a tighter bore over a loose bore and vice versa. I'm sure you'll get some very good answers from Forum members on this subject.

Most of the 1000 yard guys that I know use .237. I tried a .236 Krieger and with Sierras and Bergers I couldn't get the Velocity with a Dasher. I could only get 2900 and that was on the warm side. Matt

I just started shooting a .236 Bartlein, and things are looking promising so far, only 43 rounds down the tube so early on the prognosis.

I shot a .236 Krieger in the 2012 600 yd IBS Nats that got me paying attention!

I have a couple .237's and a .236". I like them both. Just buy a quality barrel and worry about working up loads for it. One of my bartlein .237" barrels really likes hybrids.

Someone once posted on this subject that Lapua Scenars are ever so slightly smaller in diameter and therefore like the .236, but Bergers or american made stuff like .237.....however I sure wouldn't argue with Rodney Wagners results.

I have had two .236 barrels and one .237.

Equal loads produced better results with the tighter bore running hybrids and RL15.

Just my take, my future barrels will be .236.
